Activities:  Learn how to use SalonBiz
Reflection: I have obtained an internship at The Hair and Face Lounge in Cary, NC. At this salon, the employees cut, color, and style hair, perform waxing, manicures, pedicures, and anything else to supply your beauty needs. The girls at the lounge like to have a lot of fun yet keep it professional. The Hair and Face Lounge was started by Karen Parsons, the owner and my supervisor. It began in a little house in downtown Cary. The business then moved temporarily to another building in downtown Cary and then on to the building we are now in, on Cary Parkway and Kildaire Farm rd. I am the Guest Coordinator at The Hair and Face Lounge. My assignments include scheduling the appointments for guests, making confirmation calls, opening and closing for the day, sweeping around the salon, cleaning, organizing, managing computer tasks, and helping around with anything else needed. We use the program SalonBiz to manage all of our guests appointments, history, color formulas, etc. This week I started learning how to use SalonBiz. Alli walked me through how to use the program. For the entire week I was walked through how everything worked in the business, what was expected of me, and I got to know the girls more. Being a hairstylist is something I think I want to do in my future, so working here will be able to help me make my decision. The girls at the Lounge have been very nice and welcoming. I really like working here.
